Le PDG Sébastien de Montessus, à l' occasion de la publication des résultats annuels de Endeavour Mining last Thursday, March 9, reported that the company paid approximately $400 million in taxes, mining royalties, and dividends to the governments of Senegal, Ivory Coast, and Burkina Faso in 2022.

Endeavour Mining operates six gold mines divided between Côte d'Ivoire, Burkina Faso and Senegal. The largest West African gold producer produced 1.4 million ounces in these three countries in 2022, generating $2.5 billion in revenue. The Canadian mining company paid around $400 million to three West African states in 2022. This contribution is down compared to the $543 million paid to the same states in 2021. This is explained by the drop in taxable income over the past fiscal year. While revenue fell 5% year over year to $2.5 billion, gold production increased from 1.5 million ounces in 2021 to 1.4 million ounces last year.
