During a workshop organized on 14 and 15 March 2023, in Lomé, the country representative of African Development Bank in Togo, Paterne Wilfrid Abiola and the Togolese Minister of Water and Village Water, Bolidja Tiem officially launched the Project to promote inclusive sanitation in urban centers in Togo.

The project launched by Togo and the AfDB mainly aims to improve the living conditions of the populations of Sokodé and nine urban municipalities in Togo (Drezko Centre, Kati Ta Hub, Avetonou, Zogbegan, Atchangbade, Sara, Sagbiebou, Biagou-Batebogou and Boade Centre). This project will make it possible to treat biodegradable solid waste through the co-composting system and improve the management service for the sewage sludge industry in the city of Sokodé and the surrounding area. It will also make it possible to carry out technical studies for investment projects in order to achieve the objective “Toilette for All in Sokodé” and in nine urban centers in Togo.
