On the afternoon of Tuesday, 7 February 2023, the Prime Minister's Banquet Hall hosted the steering committee meeting to monitor the implementation of the National Strategy to Combat Corruption and Similar Crimes in Niger. This meeting was chaired by Prime Minister Ouhoumoudou Mahamadou.

La lutte contre la Corruption est une an urgent necessity because it is a question of ensuring the development, peace and security of the community according to the Prime Minister of Niger. For him, “this struggle constitutes an indispensable determinant for all development action and it must be measured through transparency, accountability and efficiency in managing business and providing quality public services.” According to him, “it is known to all that corruption has harmful economic and social effects without an effective fight against corruption and similar crimes.”

On the other hand, he declares, “In Niger, the desire to fight corruption has resulted in various measures including the constitutionalization of the independence of the judicial system, the creation of the judicial unit specialized in economic and financial matters, among others, the strengthening of public control and inspection institutions, the establishment of a system for regulating public procurement, the creation and finally the operationalization of a green line at the Ministry of Justice”.
