Lors du Conseil des ministres du mercredi 24 mai 2023 à Abidjan-Plateau, the Ivorian government has adopted a decree establishing ratification of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Protocol on the fight against corruption

Government spokesperson Amadou Coulibaly, who is also Minister of Communication and the Digital Economy, announced that the convention ratifying the ECOWAS Protocol provides for a framework for cooperation and mutual assistance judicial assistance and assistance between Member States, with a view to facilitating the prosecution and punishment of acts of corruption in West Africa. According to him, “this convention, adopted in December 2001 by the 15 ECOWAS member states, aims to strengthen cooperation and promote effective mechanisms to prevent, punish and eradicate corruption within the Community
