On Monday, March 20, 2023, the opening of a training workshop for judges on the fight against cybercrime took place in Niamey, Niger. The Minister of Justice, Keeper of the Seals Ikta Abdoulaye Mohamed presided over this ceremony, which took place in the presence of the Minister of Postal Services and New Information Technologies, Hassane Barazé Moussa, and the OCWAR-C project coordinator, Rabiyatou Bah, and the ECOWAS Resident Representative in Niger and several guests.

The Internet has many advantages that are recognized by everyone. However, it also has disadvantages. Indeed, according to Ikta Abdoulaye Mohamed, if the Internet is used by people in bad faith, it can have very harmful consequences not only for individuals, companies but also for States. These consequences are manifested through scams, blackmail, online defamation, the dissemination of racist, xenophobic remarks, cyberattacks targeting systems or installations belonging to companies or States. For the Minister of Justice, Keeper of the Seals, “as much as the Internet can make life pleasant, it can make it very difficult.”

Thus, over four days, participants receive presentations on cyber risks, computer architecture and technology, cyberattacks and cybercriminals' methods of operation, electronic evidence collection, and the basic principles of international cooperation in the fight against cybercrime against cybercrime, to mention only these themes.
