Since Monday, April 3, 2023, court staff and judicial police officers have been training. This workshop is organized by the Electronic Communications and Postal Regulatory Authority (ARCEP) with the aim of strengthening their capacity to fight fraud in the electronic communications sector. The session taking place in Ouagadougou will end on April 7.

Strengthening the knowledge of court staff and judicial police officers to enable them to fight effectively against fraud in the electronic communications sector. This is the objective of the regulatory authority for electronic communications and postal services who initiated this five-day training session.

According to Wendlassida Patrice Compaoré, Executive Secretary of ARCEP, “in this context of insecurity where we need resources for the State but also to fight terrorism, it was fashionable for us as a decision-making authority Regulation of telecommunications to work, to ensure that there is zero fraud. The more fraud there is, we will have revenues that will be ruined. Fraud ruins the financial bases of operators, and therefore of the State.” According to him, the Authority considered it appropriate and important to organize this workshop with judges and judicial police officers so that they were better equipped to better track down fraudsters in the telecommunications sector.

To this end, during five days of training, participants are encouraged to understand the various possible scams in the electronic communications sector, in particular, that of hijacking international telephone practices, ping calls and that related to & agrave; electronic money.
