The Malagasy presidency issued a statement on Sunday, March 18, 2023, according to which the African Development Bank (AfDB) announced a commitment of 334 million dollars for the implementation of the National Pact for Food and Agriculture at ; Madagascar.

The press release from the Malagasy Presidency notifies that topics on food security, energy and the implementation of the “Emergence of Madagascar” Plan were discussed during the meeting of a delegation led by the Director General for Southern Africa of the African Development Bank, Leila Mokaddem, and the President of Madagascar Andry Rajoelina. According to him, the African Development Bank supports integrated projects that combine land rehabilitation, access to irrigation, road rehabilitation and the establishment of an agricultural transformation zone in order to guarantee Malagasy food security.
