In collaboration with the National Monetary Committee of Togo, the Monetary Interbanking Group (GIM) of the West African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA) launched, on Friday 14 April 2023 in Lomé, the very first campaign to promote credit card payments on Friday, April 14, 2023.

The campaign, which aims to raise awareness about the benefits of using bank cards and especially to encourage them to use them now, both for transactions and for purchases in partner commercial structures, will end on May 31. Customers and merchants will benefit from several rewards, as well as 25000F CFA vouchers during this period. According to the GIM- UEMOA representative, Mrs. Gnima Diarrassouba-Mama, this idea was based on the observation of the low rate of bank card use in commercial purchases, the GIM- UEMOA card being designed to be used for both withdrawal transactions and purchases.
