The African Development Bank (AfDB) has granted financing of more than 3 billion FCFA to Togo. Through this funding, she hopes to “quick start” of the project that targets low- and middle-income households in the Togolese capital.

The project to build 20,000 affordable housing units is still in progress in Togo. Thus, to remedy the delay in carrying out the work, the African Development Bank (AfDB) released an envelope of more than $5.13 million, or just over three billion CFA francs, on April 26, for feasibility studies with a view to speeding up work to enable “low- and middle-income households” to access “home ownership” decent.”. The Pan-African Bank announced in a press release that “the bank's operation concerns the entire Togolese territory. However, the suburb of Kpomé, near Lomé, which concentrates more than half of the demand for affordable housing, will be the pilot site. The city of Lomé concentrates most of Togo's administrative, economic, social and cultural activities and is home to 23% of the country's total population.” She specified that the total cost of the project is 6.07 million US dollars.

In addition to funding the viability studies for the Kpomé pilot site, the donors aim to “facilitate the structuring” of the project “at the legal and institutional level” for a rapid start of this project, which will “improve the living conditions” of thousands of Togolese.
