Le jeudi 6 avril 2023, a eu lieu une cérémonie de signature entre le Ministre d' Etat , in charge of the economy and finance Romuald Wadagni and the R& Representative President of the World Bank Atou Seck in Cotonou.

The additional financing agreement of more than 17 billion FCFA will support the protected forest management project. This financing granted to Benin brings the total disbursement of the World Bank under this project to more than 52 billion CFA francs (90.100 million US dollars). Among other things, it will strengthen the fight against climate change, maintain and develop 14 classified forests, representing 63% of the total area of classified forests in Benin. Also, this financing will promote the long-term production of wood energy and the development of value chains such as honey.
