A joint review of the project and program portfolio between the Republic of Mali and the World Bank Group took place on 17 March 2023 under the chairmanship of the Minister of Economy and Finance Alousseni Sanou. According to a press release, this review served as a framework to assess the overall performance of the portfolio at the halfway point of the fiscal year 2022- 2023 (July 1, 2022 - June 30, 2023) in order to improve their quality of execution and discuss perspectives.

The joint review of the project and program portfolio between the Republic of Mali and the World Bank Group is part of the ultimate objective of increasing impact projects/programs on the socio-economic development of the country for the benefit of the Malian populations. Indeed, Minister Alousseni Sanou expressed all the interest and importance that Mali's highest transition authorities attach to the performance of the portfolio, given its significant impact on improving the quality of life of the Malian population during the meeting.

According to the press release, “as of March 13, 2023, the World Bank's active portfolio in Mali includes twenty-eight (28) projects, including eighteen (18) national projects and ten (10) projects at regional character, for a total approved amount of 1,579 million US dollars, or approximately 950.347 billion CFA francs (Conversion made on the basis of 1 USD=602 FCFA)”.
