A ceremony to sign the framework partnership agreement for the deployment of the 2023-2026 strategic roadmap for the tourism sector took place on Friday, March 17, 2023 in Rabat. According to a statement, Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch presided over the ceremony.

The strategic roadmap established when Morocco signed the agreement has a budget of nearly 546.2 million euros (6.1 billion dirhams). It is spread over 4 years, and aims to attract 17.5 million tourists in 2026, reach 120 billion in foreign exchange earnings by 2026, create 200,000 new direct and indirect jobs by 2026 and reposition tourism as a key sector in the national economy.

This roadmap will transform the tourism sector by acting on all the essential levers, namely a new logic of the offer structured around the customer experience and structured around 9 thematic sectors and 5 transversal sectors, an offensive plan for double air capacity, strengthen promotion and marketing, with particular emphasis on digital technology and the diversification of cultural and leisure activities products with the emergence of a network of dynamic and modern SMEs in order to achieve its objective.
