On Monday, February 13, 2023, the West African Development Bank (BOAD) signed an agreement with the Beninese government. This was within the framework of financing the Emergency Project to Strengthen the Resilience of Agricultural Sector Actors (PUR-ZEDAGA).

The Emergency Project to Strengthen the Resilience of Agricultural Sector Actors receives funding of 25 billion CFA francs. Indeed, this project covers 42 municipalities spread over 11 departments except the coastline, which is not taken into account. PUR-ZEDAGA specifically aims to ensure the diversification of farmers' incomes by introducing improved poultry and small ruminant broodstock kernels into farms; household food and nutritional security through the supply of agricultural inputs to producers at subsidized prices to relaunch activities in high-impact sectors (maize, rice and vegetable products); the strengthening of entrepreneurial capacities of 1,240 small producers and 65 women's groups; and the organization of mass vaccination campaigns for poultry by the end of 2024.
