Deutsche Bank has announced a $305 million loan to Angola, guaranteed against the risks of non-payment by the African Trade Insurance Agency. The objective is to finance the rehabilitation of a section of the EN230 national road

In its National Development Programme 2022—2027, Angola has made transport infrastructure projects a priority, not only to improve mobility, but also to strengthen the country's positioning as a transit hub for neighbouring landlocked states.

The stretch covered by the project covers a distance of 306.5 km (of the 1,100 km of the EN230) and connects Muamussanda in Lunda Norte province to Saurimo in Lunda Sul province. This road forms, with the other sections of the EN230, a major corridor for the interconnection of the northern and eastern regions of the country. The network offers a transport alternative to railways and airplanes to access the port of Luanda

The implementation of this project, included in the Angolan government's National Development Program (PND) 2022—2027, will not only help alleviate mobility difficulties in this part of the country, but will also strengthen Angola's position in the supply chain for shipments of minerals extracted in the DRC and Zambia.
