In the modern Senegalese sector, the wage bill stood at 368.7 billion CFA francs in the fourth half compared to 366.4 billion CFA francs a year earlier, an increase of 0.6%.

The National Agency for Statistics and Demography (ANSD) informed that the growth of the modern sector in Senegal follows the increase in the wage bill in the commerce (+4.5%) and industry (+0.9%) sectors. Indeed, the agency announces a fall in the wage bill in the construction sector (-3.2%), and services (-0.1%). In the industrial sector, the increase in the wage bill was mainly due to higher wages in all its subsectors, except in manufacturing activities where the wage bill fell by 3.4% over the same period.
