On Monday, February 13, 2023, a signing session of this partnership agreement was held between the Minister of Agriculture and the Resident Representative of the World Food Programme (WFP).

Yahya Ould Ahmed El Waghef, Minister of Agriculture of Mauritania, and Candaye Samba, Resident Representative of the World Food Programme (WFP) signed a partnership agreement with the aim of strengthening the resilience capacities of local populations in the fields food security and nutrition. This is in order to face the risks of climate shocks through the establishment of production units.

This partnership extends until 2027 and is based only on strategic and practical cooperation through the exchange of services mainly in the area of the implementation of the WFP Integrated Resilience Package. In order to strengthen the institutional and technical capacities of the Ministry of Agriculture and improve the livelihoods of local communities, financial support is planned within the framework of the partnership.
