Cotonou hosted the second edition of the National Digital Entrepreneurship and Artificial Intelligence Exhibition (SENIA) on the afternoon of Thursday 11 May. It is dedicated to promoting innovations in the sector.

The general objective of the second edition of SENIA is to highlight the challenges of open data in relation to entrepreneurship and artificial intelligence, as well as new professions. Specifically, the aim was to bring together in a single melting pot the main actors and partners in the digital ecosystem to discuss themes related to the theme of this fair

Through this edition, Aurélie Adam Soulé, Beninese Minister for the Digital Economy and Digitalization announced that the government had chosen to focus on the importance of creativity and innovation in économie digital and in particular in the context of promoting local content and the use of artificial intelligence. For him, “artificial intelligence can be used to enhance our local content, to create new opportunities and to stimulate creation and innovation.” He recalled that in 2017, a survey estimated that by 2025, each connected person in the world will, on average, have an interaction with data every 18 seconds.
