Correia estimates that the World Bank loan will have an amortization period of five to seven years and will be repaid between 30 and 40 years, as expressed when a draft revision of the public service contract for inter-island passenger and cargo transport with Cabo Verde Interilhas was signed. The Deputy Prime Minister announced that he had already signed commitments from international partners to finance the operation of maritime transport.” According to him, the government's objective was “to reduce operational and financial costs in the near future, but also to have means capable of improving the level of service in maritime transport.”
