Ebenezer Twum Asante, former CEO of MTN Ghana, was appointed to the Board of Directors of Standard Chartered Bank Ghana PLC in May 2019 as an independent non-executive director. ^{To this end, a circular from the Ghana Stock Exchange notes that his appointment takes effect as of March 1, 2023.}

Ebenezer Twum Asante has been a member of the Board of Directors' Risk and Audit Committees and was until recently chair of the Cybersecurity and Security Risk Committee of ; information from the board of directors. With global executive responsibilities for the MTN Group's three regions, West and Central Africa (WECA), Southern and Eastern Africa (SEA), and the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), he is currently MTN Group Senior Vice President (SVP) for Markets.

The new board director joined MTN Ghana as sales and distribution manager after leaving Unilever where he worked for 13 years in various capacities, from graduate intern to becoming managing director of Zambia, director of customer development and board member of Unilever Ghana.
