The launch of EchoVC, an 8 million USD special fund, was announced by the pan-African venture capital firm EchoVC. This investment will be made in favor of blockchain-based startups in Africa.

A special fund of $8 million will be invested in startups that prove the usefulness of blockchain products and solve some of the continent's most pressing challenges. EchoVC focuses on entrepreneurs and undervalued markets and has already invested in around 40 companies in various markets around the world. For managers, “blockchain functionalities are more a need than a desire for African markets [...]”. “Our main interest is the fundamental fintech infrastructure, the one that optimizes payments and cash flow. [...] We want to take advantage of these functions to allow new businesses to evolve more quickly and unlock new market opportunities across the continent,” they said.
