Through a press release published on 10 May 2023, the CEO of the Council Hévéa-Palmier, Fougnigué Edmond Coulibaly invited importers, distributors and retailers to refrain from selling palm oil imported fraudulently and of questionable quality.

The press release signed by the CEO of the Hévéa-Palmier à Huile Council, Fougnigué Edmond Coulibaly mentions that “the managing director of the Hévéa-Palmier à Huile Council asks the operators concerned to put an end to this practice and invites importers, distributors and retailers to refrain from selling falsely imported palm oil of questionable quality.” In reality, this situation poses a serious threat to the balance of the oil palm sector, at the national level, but also to the health of consumers

According to the information in the document signed by Fougnigué Edmond Coulibaly, the import and export of oil palm products are activities regulated by the Ivorian legislature.
