A high-level webinar was organized by the Subregional Office for West Africa (BSR/AO) of the Commission économique pour l' Afrique of the United Nations. It was March 9, 2023.

“ Inequalities and vulnerabilities in West Africa in a context of multiple crises. Policy responses for an inclusive and resilient economic recovery” was the theme chosen for the high-level webinar. According to the Resident Coordinator of the United Nations System, Niger, one of the answers to the problem posed is to invest in spending and social protection. Indeed, taking Niger as an example, the Coordinator explained that the social safety nets project, financé by the banque mondiale and implemented by the government, has shown that by acting on social protection, “we first reduce poverty and vulnerability, both in terms of children's schooling in terms of nutrition, but also in terms of women's health.”

Kadidiatou Idani, President of the Association of Young Girls for Reproductive Health (AJFSR) noted with regard to the theme of the webinar that political, economic, educational... decisions taken by the authorities directly impact the lives of young girls, positively or negatively.
