The inflation rate should return to the 3% threshold in the Central African subregion, during the year 2025 according to projections by the Bank of Central African States (Beac), the issuing institute common to the six CEMAC countries (Cameroon, Congo, Gabon, Guin& Equatorial Guinea, Chad and CAR

).

The Beac projection was revealed by the governor of Beac on September 23, 2024 during the press conference that punctuated the 3rd session of the Monetary Policy Committee (CPM) of this central bank at the Beac headquarters in Yaoundé. The inflation rate in the CEMAC zone was close to double the Community norm of 3%, since it stood at 5.5%, during the year 2022. So, if the Beac forecast were to come true, inflationary pressures will have fallen sharply, after three years

of severe tensions.
