This intention comes almost a month after the FATF plenary deliberated, on 25 October, in Paris (France), on the inclusion of Angola in the list of countries under increased surveillance.
According to Víctor Lledo, who was speaking at the presentation ceremony of the report on “Regional Economic Prospects for Sub-Saharan Africa: Reforms in a Context of Great Expectations” from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the support of this institution will also allow training staff, in order to improve macroeconomic statistics in Angola
.He recalled that the country has made extensive use of IMF training services, with an emphasis on cash management, inflation forecasting models, the modernization of the General Tax Administration (AGT), income tax reform, among other actions.
Regarding the report that presents the regional economic outlook for sub-Saharan Africa, the official highlighted the reduction of macroeconomic imbalances and significant fiscal consolidation, a result of the adjustment of policies in this region.
