The world-famous Beninese singer Angélique Kidjo is one of the 36 artists chosen by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce to have her star on the famous Walk of Fame in 2026. She thus becomes the first African singer to appear on this mythical avenue.

The Chamber of Commerce in this prestigious neighborhood of Los Angeles has released the list of 36 new artists.

The star of the Beninese singer Angélique Kidjo will be inaugurated on the mythical street of Hollywood, in Los Angeles, a first for a singer from the continent. The only Africans to have won their star are to be found outside of musical disciplines: the South African actress Charlize Theron , the Mexican-Kenyane-American actress and director Lupita Nyong'o and the late British-South African actor Basil Rathbone.
