On Wednesday, copper prices fell to their lowest level in nearly two weeks.

The reference copper on the London Metal Exchange was down 0.1% to $9,676 per metric ton at 10:23 GMT, after reaching $9,673.50 earlier, its lowest level since 7 August. Financial and commodity markets will be looking for clues in Powell's speech on Friday to find out if American interest rates will be cut by 25 basis points as expected at the Fed meeting on September 16 and 17, which could hurt the dollar

The three-month aluminum price hit its lowest level in two weeks earlier, at $2,558 per ton. It was up 0.2% to $2,569

In other metals, zinc gained 0.2% to $2,773, lead fell 0.3% to $1,967, tin fell 0.2% to $33,780, and nickel fell 0.5% to $14,935 per ton.
