To satisfy, among other things, the credit requests recorded, the Togolese banks obtained 214.5 billion FCFA from the BCEAO over a period of 7 days, which runs from this Tuesday 22 to Monday 28 September. That is 5 billion FCFA less, in comparison with the liquidity they have benefited from during the last 7 days.

Overall at the level of the West African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA), the liquidities injected recorded an increase of approximately 20 billion FCFA to stand at around 3,369 billion FCFA.

Côte d'Ivoire, the locomotive of the economy of the sub-regional whole, naturally takes a large share of the injected cash. That is 1034 billion FCFA, which corresponds to just over 30% of all allocated resources.

These resources granted to the banks of the WAEMU States during this period of health crisis due to Covid-19, are accompanied by a fixed interest rate of 2%.
