Monday, November 14, 2022, the 23rd anniversary of access to African air transport markets took place in Dakar. This initiative was adopted on 14 November 1999 by the African ministers responsible for civil aviation.

“Accelerating the liberalization of African air transport to improve connectivity and continental integration”. This is the theme of the 23rd edition of DY. This celebration offered the United States the opportunity to reaffirm its commitment to the full implementation of this decision and the Single African Air Transport Market (MUTAA). This was with the aim of contributing to the success of the AU Agenda 2063 and to the socio-economic development of states and the continent.

In addition, during the celebration, Affoh Atcha-Dedji, the Togolese Minister for Road, Air and Rail Transport reiterated the commitment of the Head of State Faure Essozimna Gnassingbé to the successful implementation of this tool for the economic integration of the continent.

In reality, this is an opportunity for African governments to reaffirm their determination to fully implement the Yamoussoukro Decision (DY) and the Single African Air Transport Market (MUTAA).
