The second edition of the grand final of the ECOWAS Hackathon is underway this week in Lomé. This edition is about a three-day competition between young champions from 11 ECOWAS countries. They will compete in a series of hacking challenges to win prizes.

The ministry in charge of the digital economy and digital transformation is leading the competition organized under the leadership of the Ministry of the Digital Economy, by the African Cyber Defense Agency, in collaboration with the ECOWAS Commission in charge of legislation. Commander Gbota Gwaliba, Director General of the National Cybersecurity Agency (Ancy), said that “the ECOWAS Hackathon is an initiative that contributes to promoting awareness and education on cybersecurity issues, and promoting the development of a secure and resilient digital ecosystem. It allows young innovators to develop digital solutions adapted to the needs and realities of our region, while respecting ethical principles and security standards.”
