The president of the national organizing committee announced during a press conference last Tuesday, 5, that the 5th edition of the West African Mining Week (SAMAO) will be held from 28 to 30 September 2023 in Ouagadougou.

The activities of the SAMAO edition will revolve around the theme “mining in Africa: what strategy to impact the development of local economies?” ”. This international event will bring together more than 2000 participants at the Ouaga 2000 International Conference Centre, composed of experts, investors, researchers and visitors from diverse backgrounds

The president of the national organizing committee, Jean Baptiste Kaboré indicated that the participants will discuss the transformation of mining products in Africa as well as strategies for promoting the local supply of goods and services to local mining companies, local content policies in African countries. Then, the development of strategies to increase African expertise in the extractive industries value chain
