The African Development Bank (ADB) is mobilising a “partial guarantee” of credit in the amount of 1.247 billion FCFA for access to fertilizers in Ghana. This measure will make it possible to remedy “the current shortages” of fertilisers.

The fertilizer shortage in Ghana is affecting 60% of supply. The credit will be used to improve farmers' access to fertilisers in the country. According to the ADB, it will also improve yields, food security and farmers' incomes in the Upper East Ghana, Savannas, Northeastern and Northern regions.
