On Thursday, September 02, 2021, a waEMU Commission advisory support mission began exchanges with the Togolese authorities in Lomé, as part of the implementation of the government's policy of building decent housing at affordable costs for the populations of low income.

Committed to be an institution that meets the needs and expectations of peoples, the West African Economic and Monetary Union makes " habitat for all" a priority in the Union. This explains the WAEMU Commission's advisory support to the Togolese Government in the context of urban development operations at the Dalavé and Aflao-Sagbado sites located in Greater Lomé. At the opening of the work chaired by the Togolese Minister of Urbanism, Housing and Land Reform, Koffi Tsolenyanu, the Resident Representative of the WAEMU Commission in Togo, Aminata Lo Paye, indicated that the Commission's support is part of the vision to help "  improve land and housing policy instruments, including institutional, financial and regulatory instruments, and promote the development of an efficient housing market." For the Togolese minister, this support is important, because  " in 2018, the need for decent housing in Togo by 2020 was already estimated at five hundred thousand (500,000) units ". This mission led by the Coordinator of the Technical Assistance Project of the IDA Affordable Housing Financing grant in the WAEMU area (PFLA-UEMOA) will consist of supporting the country in financial engineering, legal advice, design and project management.
