Confident of the impact of these measures, the Financial Intelligence Unit (UIF, acronym in Portuguese) has ruled out the return of Angola to the "gray" list of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF).
The director general of the UIF, Gilberto Moisés Capeça, spoke about the financial action of Angola during a press conference held on Monday. "We have done a good job and the evaluation will not be negative. We will not return to the gray list, it will never happen again," said the official.
He excludes, therefore, the return of Angola on the "gray" list. According to him, Angola has evolved a lot in the prevention and fight against money laundering and terrorism financing, as well as the proliferation of massive weapons," he said.According to him, Angola has made great strides in preventing and combating money laundering and the financing of terrorism, as well as the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, which is why it is optimistic about the mutual evaluation of the Eastern and Southern Africa Anti-Money Laundering and Anti-Terrorist Financing Group (ESAAMLG).
