As part of its "Shared Innovation" series, AFD highlights innovative programs created or developed in our partner countries. Every year, the AFD Digital Challenge recognizes ten African start-ups whose remarkable innovations serve development.

 

At the end of the 2021 edition of the AFD Digital Challenge, dedicated to climate and biodiversity on the African continent, several young companies have been selected. They are Johannes Goudjanou of Premium Hortus: the platform specialized in the e-commerce of organic products; Mohamed Taghouti of Smart Logger: accelerating the digital transformation of the industrial, agricultural and medical sectors; Ghislain Irakoze of Wastezon: the second-hand platform for used electronic devices ; Wiatta Thomas of AquaFarms Africa: specialist in the design of aquaponics systems; Juveline Ngum de Bleaglee: a collection and recycling service for electronic waste; Gaetan Rajaofera from GreenTsika: a home waste collection service; Tunde Adeyemi from D-Olivette: biodigesters to transform organic waste into biogas ; Narisrec: recovering, recycling and repairing electronic waste; Ernest Okot of SafariShare: a mobile carpooling platform; Aristide Takoukan Kamla of Siren: a platform that preserves the environment through the transfer of information.
