TATA Projects Limited wants to expand its business globally through a range of projects in the transmission and distribution sectors. The backlog of TATA Projects in Africa, made up of transmission and distribution projects, reaches a value of almost 323 million dollars.

One of India's most admired and fastest growing infrastructure companies, TATA Projects has been selected to construct a 400 kV DC overhead transmission line, spanning 280 km between Nyakanazi and Kigoma, Tanzania, under a $79 million project funded by the African Development Bank (AfDB). In the West Africa region, TATA Projects has been awarded contracts worth approximately $244 million for transmission lines, substations and distribution projects. In addition, TATA Projects has signed a contract worth approximately $106 million to carry out a distribution project in Mali, financed by the World Bank under the ECOWAS Regional Electricity Access Program. The Malian company EDM has also placed an order with the company for a substation extension. At the same time, TATA Projects has been chosen to build approximately 500 km of 330 kV overhead transmission lines in Burkina Faso and Niger.
