The General Authority of Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE) announced, on Wednesday 23 December, the launch of a new agri-food processing project in the zone Sokhna industrial plant. With a total estimated cost of 8 million dollars, the investment is supported by the Pitcairn company, following an agreement with MDC, industrial operator in the area.

According to a press release published by SCZONE, the project involves the establishment of a complex agri-food integrating several production units. The works of construction should take place over a period of two years. According to the responsible for the project, commissioning is expected at the beginning of 2027.
