On the occasion, he invited the IMF to carry out initiatives for middle-income countries in order to meet their specific needs.
The Moroccan Minister of Economy, Finance and Administrative Reform invited the IMF to set up initiatives dedicated to middle-income countries, including Morocco, in order to meet their specific needs in the context of the current crisis.
Welcoming the management of the IMF for the initiatives launched to mitigate the negative effects of the COVID-19 crisis, Mohamed Benchaaboun presented the priority reform projects undertaken by Morocco, in particular the post-COVID recovery plan, the reform of the public sector and the program for the generalization of social protection.
For her part, the managing director of the IMF congratulated Morocco for the progress made in terms of vaccination as well as its anticipatory strategy to mitigate the effects of the health crisis and to stimulate the economy. She called on Morocco to pursue its reform programs and take advantage of the new opportunities that arise, particularly in the areas of climate change and digitalization.
