Le mercredi 20 septembre 2023, le gouvernement de la Mauritanie et de l' Algérie ont inauguré in Nouakchott one & eacute; financial institution called “the Algerian Union Bank” (AUB)”. This new establishment is financed by four Algerian banks with a capital of 50 million dollars

The Algerian Minister of Finance Laziz Fayed, indicated on the occasion that the opening of this bank in Mauritania, at the same time as the opening of a similar bank in Senegal, reflects Algeria's desire and interest in opening up to the African continent and effective participation in its development and prosperity. According to the latter, this development project, which has begun to bear fruit thanks to the will and commitments shared by the two fraternal countries, reflects the role played by Mauritania at the regional level and the significant resources at its disposal.

Il a indiqué que cette bank will be a new cornerstone in the edifice that the two countries are putting in place to consolidate their relations in their mutual interests, particularly in the economic fields, commercial and financial.
