During a working visit to Benin on Monday, July 24, 2023, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, with his delegation, had working sessions with the Beninese customs administration. They have adopted measures that will allow them to improve trade relations between the two countries.

A series of meetings were held between the customs administrations of Benin and Nigeria. The aim was to establish a politique municipality in the fight against smuggling in order to facilitate trade between the two countries. It is now a question for the two administrations to work together for “the fluidity of transit operations, the facilitation of trade, the harmonization of procedures, the encouragement of exchanges between economic operators and the fight against customs fraud”. The two delegations undertake to spare no effort to implement the guidelines set by the authorities of the two countries. 12 measures to improve trade have been adopted.
