On Monday, August 28, the President of Burkina Faso's Transition, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, spoke with a delegation from the Professional Association of Banks and Financial Institutions of Burkina Faso (APBEF-B). He called on banks and financial institutions to create a guarantee fund for projects run by the country's youth.

In a presidential statement, Ibrahim Traoré invited banks and financial institutions to play their full role in financing small and medium-sized businesses run by young people and women. According to him, these young people “need financing, but the guarantee problem arises. I hope that we can think together to find a formula, in particular the establishment of a guarantee fund at the government level to allow healthy financing of these projects.”

Diakarya Ouattara, President of APBEF-B, who welcomed this approach, expressed his gratitude to the Burkinabe transitional president for the interest shown in their sector.
