A commitment has been made between the Great Lakes Development Bank (BDEGL) and the African Development Bank (ADB). This commitment consists in supporting thirty multisectoral projects through the Development Finance Corporation (SOFIDE), in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The document released last Wednesday informed that “the thirty multisectoral projects will be supported by the BDEGL to help solve the problems of local populations. The BDEGL is currently engaged in a recovery process authorized by the board of directors, which has been in place since 2021, with the intention of choosing the strategic directions to follow in order to develop the most useful and least risky operations possible.”

In reality, the BDEGL has gone through difficulties and has relaunched its activities thanks to contributions from main shareholders, in this case the member states in particular Burundi, the DRC and others.
