The 61st Annual Meetings of the African Development Bank (BAD) will be held from 25 to 29 May 2026 at Brazzaville, coupled with the 52nd meeting of the Fund's Board of Governors African development.

More than 300 participants, including the governors of the ADB of the Member States, the technical and financial partners, the actors of civil society and the private sector are heard at the 61st Assemblies ADB annuals. Over the course of five days, these experts will review the actions carried out on the continent by the ADB over the past year, will discuss major regional development challenges, and will define guidelines future strategies in order to boost growth.

Noted that the government and the pan-African institution signed a memorandum of understanding on 19 September in Brazzaville that defines the responsibilities of each party, in order to start the process organization of these meetings. According to the Secretary General of the ADB Group, Professor Vincent Nmehielle, “by signing this memorandum of understanding, the Congolese government is committed to providing the goods and services necessary for the efficient organization and smooth running of the Annual Meetings, in accordance with the Bank's rules and procedures for the procurement of markets. And, through an ongoing dialogue with the host country, the Bank will work also to ensure compliance with the quality standards of the Annual Meetings at any time.”

According to this last, these projects, cover the sectors of transport, agriculture, finance, energy, water and sanitation. The Bank does not have more projects in the private sector, underlined the Secretary General of the BAD, but she hopes that the Brazzaville meetings will serve as a catalyst to boost projects led by the private sector.
