On Monday, December 22, 2025, Professor Massamba Diouf, executive secretary of the National Quality Assurance Authority of Higher Education, Research and Innovation (ANAQ-Sup) of Senegal, was elected president of the Francophone African Network of Agencies national quality assurance systems (RAFANAQ). The pan-African regulatory body of university education made this announcement in Dakar.

A press release from RAFANAQ indicates that Mr. Diouf was appointed at the end of the sixth General Assembly of that organization, which recently took place in Marrakech, Morocco.

He was chosen at the same time to direct, for two years, the Bureau of the Committee on the African Convention on the Recognition of qualifications. At the head of RAFANAQ, Massamba Diouf is assisted by two vice-presidents, who are of Mauritanian and South African nationalities, and by a Zambian rapporteur.

This double responsibility confirms “trust Renewed African quality assurance agencies” to the president of the Anaq-Sup and demonstrates “the central role of Senegal in the governance of African higher education, in terms of quality assurance, recognition of qualifications and academic mobility and professional”.
