The African Reinsurance Corporation (Africa Re), a pan-African reinsurance company, held its Board of Directors meeting from May 27 to 30 in Casablanca. This is its 163rd meeting.

Africa Re works to support the economic development of Africa through the promotion and strengthening of national insurance and reinsurance activities in African countries and the development of both national and regional retention capacities. The company currently has as shareholders the AfDB (African Development Bank), 42 African States, 113 African insurance and reinsurance companies and 3 global shareholders, namely the Axa Group, the Canadian Fairfax Financial Holdings and Allainz SE which alone holds 23% of the capital.
