On Tuesday, August 2, 2022, Commissioner Kako NUBUKPO launched the work of the virtual consultation workshop between the UEMOA Commission and actors in the rice sector.

The objective of the workshop is to contribute to strengthening dialogue and partnership between interprofessional organizations in the rice sector and public actors in order to provide feedback appropriate responses to the issues and challenges of the Union's rice self-sufficiency.

This consultation brought together national agricultural administrations, actors involved in the structuring of the sector and national and regional officials of interprofessional organizations in the rice sector, and officials from the UEMOA Commission. The Commissioner in charge of the Department of Agriculture, Water Resources and Environment, on behalf of the President of the Commission, Abdoulaye DIOP, thanked and welcomed the presence of the participants at the workshop in his speech.
