During its meeting on Monday, September 18, 2023, the Monetary Policy Committee (CPM) kept the key rate of the Central Bank of Congo at 25%.

In a statement, the CPM indicated that “the monetary policy committee of the Central Bank of Congo decided to keep the levels of the key rate and the mandatory reserve coefficients unchanged in light of recent developments and outlook for the rest of the year.” The CPM noted in its press release that the country's short-term economic outlook is marked by the persistence of inflationary risks and uncertainties. These are mainly linked to the combined effects of internal and external shocks that still affect the national economy

In addition, the Monetary Policy Committee noted that the interbank exchange rate was 2423 FC per US dollar while on the parallel market it is set at 2.518 FC per US dollar.
