Standard Chartered reported a better-than-expected pre-tax profit, up 19%, to $5.09 billion (4.7 billion euros), and an increase in its return to shareholders. The group is completing the sequence of publishing the results of British banks on a high note. Sandard Chartered has revised its forecasts for the current fiscal year downwards, saying it expects its revenues to increase in the upper range of 5 to 7% in 2024, which is lower than the previous estimate of 8 to 10% given in October last year. The group recorded revenue growth of 13% in 2023 at
