During its 139th session held on 20 December 2023 in Cotonou, the UMOA Council of Ministers meeting on 21 December 2023 approved the entry of BADEA into the capital of BOAD.

The entry of BOAD opens the second phase of the Bank's capital increase project, the first phase of which was completed in December 2022 for an amount of 554.382 billion FCFA. é BADEA's entry into the Bank's capital as a category B shareholder (non-regional shareholders) is part of the second phase of the project called Peninsula, which focuses on a mission of ' shares opened à by new shareholders including ' Membership should be approved by the Council of Ministers, in accordance with the statutes of BOAD . This entry concerns an amount of 30 million US dollars, or 18.4794 billion FCFA. This participation is equivalent to 1.20% of BOAD's subscribed share capital style="font-family: "Bookman Old Style”, "serif">, allowing this first-class institution to obtain a seat on its Board of Administration.
