As part of the fight against tax evasion, the deputies of the ^8th legislature authorized on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, the ratification of a Convention between Benin and Morocco.

The deputies to the National Assembly, adopted in plenary session the law authorizing the ratification of the convention signed in Marrakech, on March 25, 2019, between the Republic of Benin and the Kingdom of Morocco with a view to avoiding double taxation, to prevent tax evasion with regard to income tax and to establish the rules for reciprocal assistance. Taking into account the latest developments in ever-changing international tax law, this convention allows for more effective bilateral cooperation between the two States, thanks to a uniform application and interpretation of its provisions, said the report.
