The trade union confederations were in front of the press this Friday, January 28, 2022 at the Cotonou labor exchange. They demand among other things: the re-reading of the new General Tax Code, the reduction of taxes and the start of negotiations for the revaluation of wages.

The leaders of six trade union centers expressed their expectations. The first requirement of Confederations and Trade Union Centers is that the government open negotiations on its desire to increase wages. There were no quantified proposals but overall suggestions. Suggestions resulting from discussions with technicians in Ouidah on January 14, 2022. Among other things, they did not fail to ask the government to review the new General Tax Code and also to demand a reduction in taxes. They also made it clear that there needs to be strict price control in the market. The Confederations and Trade Unions have invited the government to listen to "the cry of the heart of the citizens to agree to re-read the general tax code".
